Hiring and working with Shopify Partners

The Partner Directory connects you with Shopify Partners who you can hire for complicated tasks related to building your business.

When you contact a Partner, you’re not committed to hiring them. You decide whether you want to work with them.

Planning to contact a Partner

Before you engage with a Partner, it's important to prepare by clearly outlining the requirements for the work needed. Consider the following best practices when planning to hire a Partner:

  • Familiarize yourself with any business or technical terms relevant to the work that you need help with to facilitate effective communication with the Partner.
  • Conduct preliminary research to gather insights and examples from similar businesses to better articulate your needs.
  • Define your budget, timeline, and expected outcomes in detail to allow the Partner to provide an accurate quote.

Finding Partners

To find a Partner, browse the Partner Directory and explore the available services.

You can use the following filtering options to refine your search based on criteria:

  • Acceptance of new clients
  • Price range in USD
  • Services offered
  • Location
  • Industry
  • Languages spoken

You can also sort the results based on Partner's average rating or service prices.

Contacting Partners

When you find a Partner that you want to work with, you can contact them using the Contact button on the Partner's profile. You must be logged into your Shopify account to contact a Partner.

Fill out the provided form with your contact information and a comprehensive overview of the help required, including store information, service details, budget, and problem description.

When you contact a Partner, the information about your request is sent to the Partner as an email.

Working with Partners

After the Partner responds to your inquiry, engage in discussions regarding collaboration methods and preferred tools. For example, the Partner might require access your store through a collaborator account to perform certain tasks.

When the work is complete, or at another time agreed to by you and the Partner, the Partner will bill you directly, and these charges don't display on your Shopify bill.

Reviewing Partners

You're prompted to review a Partner under the following conditions:

  • Contact was made through the Partner Directory.
  • The Partner was added as a collaborator to the store.
  • Collaborator access was active for a minimum of two weeks.

Review requests are sent through email 45 days after you accept the Partner's collaborator request. Reviews can only be submitted after you receive a review request. You can provide feedback on the quality of work and communication by leaving separate star ratings. Reviews and star ratings are displayed on the Partner's profile in the Partner Directory for eligible merchants on a paid plan.
