Customer accounts
Customer accounts let your customers log in to view their orders, profile information, and saved addresses. When a customer logs in, the details stored in their account are auto-filled during checkout for a faster checkout experience.
There are two versions of customer accounts: classic and new customer accounts. The new customer accounts are available only to stores on the Shopify Plus plan and other select stores.
If you have access to the new customer accounts, then both classic and new customer accounts are available to you and can be used by your customers. You can control how customers can log in and which version of customer accounts is used in your online store.
To verify which customer accounts version you have in your store, check how the checkout settings page is displayed in the Settings page of your Shopify admin:
- If your checkout settings page is displayed as Checkout and account, then you have the classic and new customer accounts.
- If your checkout settings page is displayed as Checkout, then you have only the classic customer accounts.
