Customer accounts

Customer accounts is the newest version of customer accounts, and lets your customers log in using a one-time 6-digit verification code sent by email. A password isn't required to log in.

The following features are supported on customer accounts, and aren't available on legacy customer accounts:

  • Saved payment methods
  • Self-serve returns
  • B2B in Shopify
  • Reordering
  • Customer accounts integrates with markets in the following ways:
    • If you sell in multiple markets, then the language and regional settings from the market that a customer views your store in also apply when they navigate to their customer account pages.
    • The customer's Orders page still displays the customer's orders from all of your markets, if applicable.

You can also tailor your customer accounts experience by customizing your customer accounts branding, customer accounts menu, and using apps to add new features to customer-facing pages.

Multipass isn't supported on customer accounts.
