Set up your domain with Namecheap

If you have a domain from Namecheap, then you need to reconfigure your DNS settings to point the domain at your Shopify store.

Make sure that you've added your custom domain by clicking Connect existing domain on the Domains page of your Shopify admin.

Steps:

  1. Log in to your Namecheap account.

  2. Click Manage next to your domain name:

  3. On the domain Details page, make sure that your domain is using Namecheap basic DNS settings. The option selected from the drop-down in the NAMESERVERS section needs to be Namecheap BasicDNS:

  4. Click Advanced DNS:

  5. Click ADD NEW RECORD.

  6. Select A Record from the drop-down menu, and enter Shopify's IP address 23.227.38.32 Copy in the text box.

  7. Click the checkmark to save your changes.

  8. If there is a default URL Redirect Record, then click the trash can icon next to it:

  9. In the Delete Record dialog, click Yes to confirm.

  10. Click the value that is in the CNAME Record row:

  11. Enter shops.myshopify.com Copy in the text box.

  12. Click the checkmark to save your changes.

  13. Click Verify connection in your Shopify admin to confirm that your custom domain has been connected to your store.

It can take up to 48 hours for changes to take effect.
