Managing your Shopify Balance cards
You can use the Shopify Balance card as a tool for managing your business expenses. You can view and manage your Shopify Balance card details by going to Finance > Balance and then clicking your virtual or physical card.

Number of virtual and physical Shopify Balance cards you can have
After you complete setting up your Shopify Balance account, your virtual card is automatically activated. There's a limit of one virtual card and one physical card per store. If you have multiple accounts configured for Balance, then you can only obtain a card for the main account.
Shopify Balance card fees
Shopify doesn't charge any fees for using your Balance card. However, ATM provider fees may apply. You can find more information about fees in your Terms of Service.
View card information
You can view your virtual or physical card information, such as the card number or cardholder details.
For security reasons, you might receive a prompt to authenticate your account again.
Desktop
Steps:
From your Shopify admin, go to Finance.
Click Main.
Select your main account.
In the Cards section, click the card that you want to view, or click Manage cards to view the card's details.
iPhone
Steps:
- From the Shopify app, select your main Shopify Balance account.
- Tap the card that you want to view, or tap Manage cards to view the card's details.
Android
Steps:
- From the Shopify app, select your main Shopify Balance account.
- Tap the card that you want to view, or tap Manage cards to view the card's details.
Linking your Shopify Balance card to Apple Pay or Google Pay wallet
You can link your virtual or physical Shopify Balance card to your Google Pay or Apple Pay wallet in order to use the card for online and in-person payments. You can link your Shopify Balance card to your digital wallet in a number of different ways.
Linking your Shopify Balance Card to Apple Pay or Google Pay wallet using the Shopify app
You can link your virtual or physical Shopify Balance card to Google Pay or Apple Pay directly from your Shopify App. After linking your Shopify Balance card to a digital wallet, you can use it to pay in-person and online immediately.
iPhone
Steps:
- In the Shopify app, tap …, and then tap Finance.
- In the Finance section, complete one of the following actions:
- Tap Manage cards.
- Tap the Main account, and then select the card on the account page.
- On the Card Management page, select the card that you want to link to your Apple Wallet.
- Tap Add to wallet.
- Complete the authentication task using your device’s security method.
- Tap Add to Apple Wallet.
- On the Add card to Apple Pay screen, select the Apple device you want to add your card to.
- On the Add card screen, tap Next to add your Shopify Balance card to your Apple Pay wallet.
Android
Steps:
- In the Shopify app, tap ☰, and then tap Finance.
- In the Finance section, complete one of the following actions:
- Tap Manage cards.
- Tap the Main account, and then select the card on the account page.
- On the Card Management page, select the card that you want to link to your Google Pay wallet.
- Tap Add to wallet.
- Complete the authentication task using your device’s security method.
- Tap Add to Google Pay.
- On the Add card to Google Wallet screen, tap Add to Google Pay.
- On the Add card screen, tap Next to add your Shopify Balance card to your Google Pay wallet.
Linking your Shopify Balance Card to your Apple Pay or Google Pay wallet using the Shopify Balance app
With the Shopify Balance app, you can link your virtual or physical Shopify Balance card to your mobile wallet so that you can make payments online and in-person.
iPhone
Steps:
- From the Shopify Balance app, tap Card.
- Choose the card that you want to add to your mobile wallet.
- Tap Add to Apple Wallet.
- Follow the instructions in your mobile wallet to finish adding your Balance card. Refer to Apple Pay and Wallet for the appropriate steps.
Android
Steps:
- From the Shopify Balance app, tap Card.
- Choose the card that you want to add to your mobile wallet.
- Tap Add to Google Pay.
- Follow the instructions in your mobile wallet to finish adding your Balance card. Refer to Google Pay and Wallet for the appropriate steps.
After you link your Balance card to your mobile wallet, you can use your Balance card to make in-store and online purchases immediately.
Linking your Shopify Balance Card to your Apple Pay or Google Pay wallet using your Shopify Balance card details
You can add your virtual or physical Shopify Balance card to Apple Pay or Google Pay using your Balance card numbers. To find your Balance card numbers, go to your Shopify Balance page in the Shopify admin. Click on your main account, and then click on the card that you want to link. Refer to Apple Pay and Wallet or Google Pay and Wallet for more details.
Update your cardholder details
You can update your Shopify Balance cardholder details, including your billing address and phone number, in your Shopify Balance account.
If you have a physical card as well as a virtual card, then any changes that you make apply to both cards.
Steps:
From your Shopify admin, go to Finance.
Click Main.
Select your main account.
Under Cards, click your virtual or physical card.
Click View cardholder details.
Click Edit to change your billing address or mobile phone number.
Set your Shopify Balance card as your primary payment method
You can use your Shopify Balance virtual or physical card to pay for your Shopify bills and purchases.
If you use your Shopify Balance virtual card, then you won’t have to enter any card details. Instead, select your Shopify Balance virtual card as your preferred payment method.
Steps:
From your Shopify admin, go to Finance.
Click Main.
Click the ... button beside the payment method that you want to change, and then click Replace.
Enter the required information.
Click Replace credit card.
