Shopify Balance cashback rewards

The Shopify Balance account offers a number of rewards on eligible purchases made using your Shopify Balance card. All current rewards are listed on the Shopify Balance rewards page in your Shopify admin.

Shopify partners with Stripe, Inc. and affiliated companies, and financial institution partners, including Celtic Bank and Evolve Bank & Trust, Member FDIC, to offer money transmission, banking, and issuing services.

Shopify Balance cashback rewards overview

When you make eligible purchases from Shopify using your Shopify Balance card, a percentage of the purchase price is deposited into your Shopify Balance account up to a maximum of 2000 USD a year. The deposit doesn't include cashback from Shopify partners. Cashback is deposited into your Shopify Balance account on a monthly basis. This 2000 USD annual limit resets on January 1, regardless of the amount of cashback that you earned in the previous year. The limit doesn't carry over to the new year.

Eligibility requirements for Shopify Balance cashback rewards

To be eligible for cashback rewards, you must have a physical or virtual Shopify Balance card set as your primary payment method card.

Note

Purchases that you made using Automated Clearing House (ACH) transfers aren't eligible for cashback rewards.

Use your Balance card for Shopify bill to earn cashback rewards

You can earn 2% cashback on eligible purchases (including Shopify Shipping, Shopify Email, apps, custom domains, and themes), when you pay your Shopify bill with your Shopify Balance virtual or physical card.

Set up option 1:

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Finances > Balance > Main.
2. In the Your Balance cards section, click Start earning cashback.
3. In the Use Balance card for Shopify bills dialog, click Use Balance card for Shopify bills.

Set up option 2:

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Finances > Balance.
2. In the Cash flow this month section, click View all insights.
3. In the Upcoming Shopify bill section, click Connect Shopify Balance to billing.
