Setting up and printing pick lists using the Shopify Order Printer app

A pick list is a document that includes a list of items that need to be picked to fulfill your customer's order. Pick lists can include order IDs, fulfillments, and product information, such as SKU, quantity, variant, product name, and product image. Pick lists let you organize orders into a condensed list to reduce shipping errors.

To set up and print pick lists, you need to have the Shopify Order Printer app installed in your Shopify admin.

Considerations for setting up pick lists

Before you set up and print pick lists, review the following considerations:

• You can customize your pick list template using the default customization options, but you can't customize the template with custom code.
• You can print pick lists for up to 50 orders at a time.
• You can create up to 15 different templates.

Customizing your pick list template

You can customize your pick lists in the following ways:

• Picking method: Choose your picking strategy, by orders or by products.
• Columns: Select which product or order information columns you want to include to your pick list, such as product name or order ID.
• Sorting order: Choose the sorting order for your pick list.
• Orders to include by fulfillment status: Select what orders you want to include to your pick list, such as unfulfilled or fulfilled orders.

Set up a pick list template

You can set up and customize your pick list template from the Shopify Order Printer app in your Shopify admin.

If you want to create multiple pick list templates, then click Duplicate in the pick list template.

Steps:

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Apps and sales channels.

2. Click Order Printer.

3. Click Open app.

4. Click Templates, and then click the Pick list template.

5. In the Name field, enter a name for your pick list template.

6. Optional: To print this pick list for your orders by default, select Print by default.

7. Customize your pick list template:

   1. In the Pick by section, choose whether you want to generate a pick list by your products or orders.
   2. From the Sort by drop-down menu, select how you want to sort your products or orders in your pick list.
   3. From the Include drop-down menu, select what orders by fulfillment status you want to include to your pick list.
   4. In the Columns section, select which product or order information you want to display in your pick list.
   5. Optional: To arrange the columns sequence in your pick list, click and drag the ⋮⋮ icon to move columns.

8. Optional: To preview your pick list template, click the Preview tab.

9. Click Save.

Print a pick list for your orders

You can print pick lists for up to 50 orders at a time using the Shopify Order Printer app.

Steps:

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Orders.

2. Use the checkboxes to select the orders that you want to print pick lists for.

3. Click …, and then click Order Printer.

4. In the Document section, select Pick list.

5. Optional: From the Location drop-down menu, select the location that you want to generate a pick list for.

6. Click Continue to print.

7. Click Print.
