Returns and exchanges
You can refund orders, create returns, and add exchange items in your Shopify admin.
A refund is when you send the full or part payment amount back to a customer who placed an order on your online store.
A return is when a customer returns an item that they purchased from your online store. You can send return instructions to the customer and provide a return shipping label. After you receive and inspect the returned item, you can issue a refund when applicable.
An exchange is when you arrange to send a customer an alternative item as part of the returns process.
You can also turn on self-serve returns and set up return rules to let your customers submit return requests directly in your online store.
