Getting started with the Fulfillment Network app

You can learn more about what's needed to use the Fulfillment Network app by referring to this checklist. You might find it helpful to print this page so that you can refer to it throughout the setup process.

Before you start

Ensure that your products have barcodes and SKUs.

Activate the Fulfillment Network app

Install the Fulfillment Network app from the Shopify App Store.

Use the recommendation tool to determine which 3PL (third-party logistics) provider is best suited to your business.

Verify that your products are eligible for fulfillment by your chosen third-party logistics service (3PL). Refer to your 3PL's help guides, or contact the 3PL with your inquiry.

Connect a 3PL

Contact the 3PL that you want to use to set up an account.

Connect the desired 3PL to your store. If you use Flexport, then click Connect your store. If you use a different 3PL, then click Install app.

If you use Flexport, then refer to Getting started with Flexport to learn more about completing these tasks. For other 3PLs, refer to the app's user guides and support documentation.

After you connect your store with a 3PL, you can perform the following tasks:

• Create a transfer to send your inventory to your 3PL.
• Pack your products and ship them to one of your 3PL's locations.
• Assign customer-facing names to your 3PL's shipping options.
• Add shipping rates to the location assigned for your 3PL. For example, if you use Flexport, then add shipping rates to the SFN-Flexport location.
• Set priority rules for routing orders.
