Shopify Shipping with DHL Paket
If you're shipping from a location in Germany, then you can buy Shopify Shipping labels from DHL Paket. You can ship your products from a DHL drop-off location to your customer's address within Germany. The shipping rates that you're charged are based on Shopify's account with DHL.

Considerations for shipping packages with DHL Paket
Review the following considerations when using Shopify Shipping with DHL Paket:
- Shopify Shipping with DHL Paket ships domestically within Germany only, no international destinations are supported.
- You can't schedule pickups with DHL Paket to collect your shipments through Shopify Shipping.
- To purchase DHL Paket shipping labels, your store's address needs to be based in Germany.
Getting your products to DHL Paket
You can drop off your products at a DHL drop-off location. Find your nearest DHL drop-off location. Currently, Shopify Shipping doesn't support pickups with DHL Paket.
Domestic shipping with DHL Paket
DHL Paket doesn't have guaranteed delivery times, but it aims to deliver shipments within 1-2 business days, depending on the origin of the goods and products.

DHL Paket makes one delivery attempt before forwarding the package to a DHL pick-up point for collection by the recipient. If a package is not picked up by the recipient within seven days, then undeliverable parcels are returned to the sender.
A parcel might be delivered to a neighbor rather than forwarded to a DHL pick-up point if it doesn't have either of the following add-on services:
- Signature required
- No neighbor delivery
Package requirements for DHL Paket shipments
DHL Paket has maximum package requirement values for domestic shipments. Make sure to review these values before shipping your packages with DHL Paket.
The following are the maximum package dimensions and weight for DHL Paket:
- the maximum length and girth combined (length + 2x width + 2x height) is 360 cm (141.7 inches)
- the maximum length of the longest side is 200 cm (78.7 inches)
- the maximum weight is 31.5 kg (69.4 lb)
Add-on services for DHL Paket shipments
DHL Paket offers a number of add-on services for shipments.

DHL Paket prohibited items

Submitting shipping claims for DHL Paket shipments
If you're using DHL Paket with Shopify Shipping and your shipment is lost or damaged, then you can submit a shipping claim with Shopify Shipping Support.
Included insurance coverage for DHL Paket shipments
DHL Paket offers coverage of up to €500 EUR for shipments.
Submitting a shipping claim for a lost DHL Paket shipment
If your DHL Paket shipment is lost, then you can submit a claim up to 1 year after the label purchase date. To initiate a shipping claim with DHL Paket, submit a shipping claim in your Shopify admin. Include the following information in your claim:
- a commercial invoice that displays the retail value of the goods
- any communications between you and the customer
Submitting a shipping claim for a damaged DHL Paket shipment
If your DHL Paket shipment is damaged, then you can submit a claim within 7 days of the delivery date. To make a claim, your customer must report the damage at a DHL location within 7 days of delivery and present the parcel for inspection.
After your customer has confirmed that they've provided the package to DHL, submit a shipping claim in your Shopify admin to initiate a shipping claim with DHL Paket. Include the following information in your claim:
- a commercial invoice that displays the retail value of the goods
- any communications between you and the customer
Requesting support for DHL Paket shipments
If you're using DHL Paket with Shopify Shipping and you need help, then contact Shopify Support. You can also submit shipping claims for damaged or lost shipments.
Rerouting a DHL Paket shipment
DHL Paket shipments can't be rerouted. However, if the shipment isn't in transit or delivered, then you can request a stop on the delivery. A stopped delivery is returned to the sender. To request a stop on a delivery, contact Shopify Support.
