Considerations for shipping packages with DHL eCommerce
Review the following considerations before you ship using DHL eCommerce:
- When you print DHL eCommerce shipping labels, they're printed as United States Postal Service (USPS) labels, because you need to drop off your shipment at a USPS drop-off location. USPS transfers your shipment to DHL. Alternatively, if USPS already picks up shipments from your shipping location, then these packages can be picked up by USPS along with your other deliveries.
- DHL eCommerce shipments have tracking information available for 21 days after the last tracking event. After this period without activity, tracking information for shipments is purged.
- International packages shipped with DHL eCommerce might be opened for inspection. If you ship with DHL eCommerce, then consider using packaging for your products that can be easily opened and resealed. If you sell gift items, then consider informing your customers that packages might be opened in transit.
