Shipping zones and markets
Countries and regions can be added to your shipping zones in your Shipping and delivery settings only when those countries and regions belong to a market.
To sell to a country or region, it needs to be included in an active market. For example, if a country is in an inactive market in your Market settings, then customers from that country can't place an order even if the country is in a shipping zone with available shipping rates.

Adding new countries and regions to shipping zones
To start shipping to a new country or region, take the following steps:
- Add a new market with that country or region, or add it to an existing market.
- Add a shipping zone for that country or region, or add it to an existing zone.
- Activate the market.
Deleting new countries and regions from shipping zones
When you delete a country or region from a shipping zone, the market that the country or region is in isn't deactivated automatically. If the country or region has no possible delivery methods, then an error displays in the market indicating which countries customers can't check out from. If the country or region has no shipping rates but does have a pickup in store option, then an error displays in the market indicating which countries have no shipping rates.
