Ways to sell

You can sell products in different ways using many sales channels with Shopify. Although you're not limited to choosing only one way to sell, it's important to have an idea of your business requirements so you can choose a pricing plan that works for you.

Selling in person with Shopify POS

If you want to sell your products in person, then you can use the Shopify POS app.

With Shopify POS you can process sales in a retail store and at mobile locations, such as fairs, pop-ups, and markets. Learn more about getting started with selling in person.

If you don't have a Shopify account, then you can create an account in the Shopify POS app.

Selling with Shopify's online store

If you want to sell online, then you can sign up for a Shopify online store. You'll be able to set up all your products in the Shopify admin, and then have a website for your customers to visit.

Selling on Shopify's other online channels

If you want to sell on social media, then you can do so using the available online sales channels.

You can have a Shopify online store and also sell on one or more of the other online sales channels at the same time.

Shopify uptime

To make sure your business is available when your customers want to shop, Shopify has maintained a 99.99% uptime as a platform, calculated for all major Shopify services, in all geographic regions, for the past 90 days.

Uptime is a way to measure the reliability of an operating system. This includes online storefronts, checkout, Shopify POS, Shop Pay, Shopify Payments, and Shopify itself. Shopify's uptime calculations don't include downtimes attributed to:

  • Outages of third-party services
  • Errors resulting from theme customization
  • Errors resulting from public or custom apps
  • Planned downtime or maintenance
  • Major or natural events outside of Shopify's control

If you've previously contacted Shopify Support, then a list of your conversations displays. If you haven't contacted Shopify Support before, then the message Welcome to Support Inbox displays.

  1. To log in to your Shopify account on the Shopify Help Center, click Log in and then follow the prompts.
  2. After you log in, click your account profile icon, and then click Support Inbox.
iPhone
  1. To log in to your Shopify account on the Shopify Help Center, tap > Log in, and then follow the prompts.
  2. After you log in, tap the button, tap your account name or account profile icon, and then tap Support Inbox.
Android
  1. To log in to your Shopify account on the Shopify Help Center, tap > Log in, and then follow the prompts.
  2. After you log in, tap the button, tap your account name or account profile icon, and then tap Support Inbox.
