Changing inventory quantities by product
You can update the inventory quantities in various ways on the Products page. Some of the approaches are described here.
Regardless of the approach that you use, make sure that Shopify tracks this product's quantity is selected in the Inventory policy list so that you can see and change the inventory quantities.
Change the inventory quantity for one product
The way that you update the quantity for a single product depends on whether the product has variants.
Product without variants
- Go to Products and open the product.
- In the Inventory section, click the quantity for a location in the Available column.
- Adjust or set the inventory quantity. You can use positive or negative numbers.
- Click Save.
- From the Shopify app, tap Products.
- Tap a product that you want to change the inventory of.
- Tap Inventory.
- In the Quantity section, tap the location that you want to adjust the inventory of.
- Adjust or set the inventory quantity. You can use positive or negative numbers to adjust the inventory quantity.
- From the Shopify app, tap Products.
- Tap a product that you want to change the inventory of.
- Tap Inventory.
- In the Quantity section, tap the location that you want to adjust the inventory of.

Product with variants
Go to Products and open the product.

If you want to edit quantities for all the variants, then in the Variants section, click Edit variants > Edit quantities.
Alternatively, if you want to edit quantities for specific variants, then select the variants, and then click Actions > Edit quantities.
Click a location.
Either enter a quantity for all the variants and click Apply to all, or enter the quantity separately for each variant.
Click Save.

- Tap Inventory.

Change the inventory quantities by using the bulk editor
By using the bulk editor, you can change inventory quantities for multiple product variants and locations. The bulk editor is a page that shows rows and columns of data, similar to a spreadsheet.
Steps:
Go to Products.
Select a product with variants that you want to edit the inventory quantities for.
In the Variants section, click Edit variants > Open bulk editor.

Change the values in the rows and columns by clicking in a cell:
- Inventory managed by - Select whether Shopify or an app manages the inventory.

Available at - For each location, adjust the inventory quantities. You can specify
Stocked
orNot stocked
, depending whether Track quantity is checked. -
Track quantity - If checked, you can change the quantities. If unchecked, the inventory isn't tracked, and the values will only be
Stocked
orNot stocked
.
Click Save.
