Marketplace Connect product listing requirements
When you list a Shopify product to a marketplace, you need to ensure that it meets the product requirements for the marketplace that you're listing it on. Each marketplace has specific product listing guidelines that you need to follow:
- For Amazon, review the seller documentation for product listing requirements in your region. For example, if you're selling in the United States, then refer to Listing products.
- For Walmart, refer to Guidelines & Requirements for Product Title, Description, & Features.
- For eBay, refer to Creating a listing.
- For Etsy, refer to How to List an Item in Your Etsy Shop.
- For Target Plus, contact your Target Plus representative to find out about product listing requirements.
Amazon, Walmart, eBay, and Target Plus also require that each product has a unique product identifier, such as a Global Trade Item Number (GTIN), Universal Product Code (UPC), Manufacturer Part Number (MPN), or European Article Number (EAN). If you sell products that don't have unique product identifiers, such as private label goods, then you need to apply for an exemption from those marketplaces. Some product information required by marketplaces isn't part of your product details in your Shopify admin. To include and sync these required details from your Shopify products to your marketplace listings, learn how to customize your product listings with metafields and attribute mapping.
