Shop sales channel performance analytics

You can access comprehensive analytics about the Shop channel's performance, including detailed metrics about Shop Pay and Shop Store transactions. These analytics help you understand how the Shop channel contributes to your business growth by tracking key performance indicators such as total sales volume, order counts, payment methods, and customer engagement across both the Shop channel and Shop Pay.

View performance analytics

If you activate the Shop feature on your account, then you can view Shop Pay and Shop Store metrics in the Shop sales channel in your Shopify admin. If you don't have enough customers using Shop, then certain performance metrics won't be available. These metrics are available after more customers start using Shop.

You can view the following Shop data metrics:

  • Total sales with Shop Pay: Total sales processed with Shop Pay across all sales channels.
  • Total orders with Shop Pay: Number of orders made using Shop Pay across all sales channels.
  • Shop Store sales: Total sales made on the Shop sales channel.
  • Shop Store orders: Number of orders placed on the Shop sales channel.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Apps and sales channels.

  2. Click Shop.

  3. Click Open sales channel.

  4. Optional: From the Shop sales channel, click calendar icon, and then select the time frame that you want to view. You can select today, the last 7 days, or the last 30 days.

  5. Optional: Click a metric to view a more detailed report in your Reports list. You can view the Shop Pay transactions and Shop channel orders reports with the appropriate metrics pre-applied.

Viewing Shop performance reports

In the Reports list of your Shopify admin, you can access the following default reports related to the Shop channel:

  • Shop channel orders: Includes the net payments and transactions from orders where the sales channel is Shop.
  • Shop channel product impressions: Displays the number of times products were viewed in the Shop channel.
  • Shop payments by type: Displays the net payments from Shop channel transactions.
  • Shop Pay transactions: Includes the net payments and transactions from orders where the transaction used Shop Pay.
  • Shop Campaign ROAS: Displays the return on ad spend (ROAS) for orders associated with Shop Campaigns.

You can change the date range that you're reviewing, create a comparison with another date range, and select the regularity of the metrics. Learn more about customizing and editing your reports.

From each report, you can print the current report, export the current report, or save the report.

View a list of sessions referred by the Shop app

In your Shopify reports, sessions referred by the Shop app are listed in the Sessions by referrer report and the Sessions over time report as shop_app in the UTM source dimension column. You can filter your reports' data by UTM source to view only sessions referred by Shop.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Analytics > Reports.

  2. Click the Categories dropdown menu, and then select Acquisition.

  3. Click Sessions by referrer or Sessions over time.

  4. In the configuration panel's Filter menu, click Add Filter to add a filter.

  5. Search for UTM source and then select it.

  6. In the new UTM source filter, click Select value and enter shop_app.

  7. Click Apply to view a list of sessions referred by Shop.
