Understanding the Collective Community Guidelines for suppliers
To ensure that Shopify Collective is a place where you can build successful relationships with retailers, you're encouraged to review the following community guidelines and best practices. You're free to communicate with the retailers that you partner with to agree on the best ways of working together:
- Invitation etiqutte: Send connection invitations only to retailers that you genuinely want to offer your products to on Collective. Respond promptly to connection invitations that you receive, whether you're accepting or declining the invite.
- Product listings: Ensure that you list your products with all the correct product details. Aim for at least 150 characters when you write your product descriptions, and include high-quality images.
- Managing fulfillment: Correctly manage your inventory to prevent unexpected delivery delays on customer orders, and ensure that your shipping profiles contain accurate transit time estimates. Provide genuine tracking numbers for all physical products that you ship.
- Retailer respect: When you ship products directly to your retailers' customers, don't include your own marketing materials, discount codes, or invoices in packages.
- Return rules: Follow the returns policy that you agree to with your connected retailers.
- Customer experience: Aim to respond to customer support inquiries within 48 hours. Ensure that you communicate and work effectively with your retailers to resolve any customer issues.
If you're unhappy with a particular partnership, then speak to the retailer directly. Most issues can be resolved through clear communication about expectations.
If you need to end a partnership, then you can delete a retailer in your Shopify Collective sales channel, and optionally report any fraudulent practices or misconduct by the retailer. Shopify reviews these reports only to identify any potential patterns in behavior by retailers. After you report a retailer, you don't receive further communication from Shopify regarding your feedback.
