Wholesale channel to B2B migration checklist
This checklist outlines all the steps that you need to take to move from the wholesale channel to B2B on Shopify. You might find it helpful to print this checklist, or to download it as a PDF so that you can refer to it throughout the migration process.
Before you start Review the considerations for using B2B on Shopify. Review the considerations for running a blended or dedicated B2B store, and decide whether you want to set up a dedicated store that only accepts business-to-business (B2B) orders, or a blended store that accepts both B2B and direct-to-consumer (DTC) orders. Decide whether to set up B2B on Shopify on the same store where you have the Plus wholesale channel installed, or on a new, separate store. Optional: If you have checkout liquid customizations that you want to use with B2B, then contact Shopify support for information about how to migrate them. Create B2B companies for your wholesale customers Use the bulk company set up tool to convert your existing wholesale channel customers into B2B companies and locations. Review your new companies, and make any adjustments to location settings such as payment terms and editable shipping addresses. Copy your wholesale channel price lists to B2B catalogs Use the migration tool in the wholesale channel to copy your price lists to B2B catalogs. Review your B2B multicurrency settings. Launch your B2B store Set up B2B customer login. Create a test company profile using your own contact information, and then log in as a customer to test your B2B setup.
Invite your customers to your B2B store by sending a B2B access email, or by sending your own communications that include a link to create a new B2B customer account.
