Managing discounts on Handshake

You can create, manage, and delete automatic discounts for your products on the Handshake sales channel. An automatic discount is discount that applies to all your products on the Handshake sales channel automatically. Discounts can be used for limited-time promotions, or to encourage a certain amount of products per order. Your discounts are advertised on your product details pages and on the product cards when browsing the Handshake marketplace.

Create discounts

You can create automatic discounts that apply to all your products on the Handshake sales channel. You can't apply specific discounts for specific products or customers. You can set up discounts by percentage or by fixed amount and can have up to 3 tiers of discounts. If you want to set up a discount for a future date, then you can schedule it.

Below is an example setup of tiered discounts on Handshake:

Steps:

1. From your Shopify admin, click Settings > Apps and sales channels.

2. From the Apps and sales channels page, click Handshake.

3. Click Open sales channel.

4. Click Discounts.

5. Click Create automatic discount.

6. In the Automatic discount section, name your discount.

7. In the Discount types section, select the type of your discount:

   • To set a percentage discount, such as 5%, select Percentage.
   • To set a fixed discount, such as 30 USD, select Fixed amount.

8. In the Discount tiers section, enter the discount value and the minimum order value. For example, you can set the discount value as 5% that applies to orders that have order value 150 USD and over.

9. In the Date range section, set the start date and the start time for your discount. You can schedule your discount for a future date.

10. Optional: To set an end date and time for for your discount, check Set end date and select the end date and time.

11. Click Save.

Manage discounts

The Discounts page in the Handshake sales channel gives you an overview of all the discounts that you have on Handshake.

Discounts can have the following statuses:

• Active - the discount is available for your products in the Handshake marketplace.
• Scheduled - the discount is scheduled to become active from a specific date.
• Expired - the discount has expired and is inactive in the Handshake marketplace.

You can have only one automatic discount active at a time. You can edit your existing discount, such as extend it for longed period, adjust the discount amount, or manage your discount availability.

Steps:

1. From your Shopify admin, click Settings > Apps and sales channels.

2. From the Apps and sales channels page, click Handshake.

3. Click Open sales channel.

4. Click Discounts.

5. Click the discount that you want to edit.

6. Change the title, type, value, or the active date of the discount.

7. Optional: Manage your discount's availability:

   • To disable and change your discount's status to Expired, click Deactivate, and then click Deactivate.
   • To enable and change your discount's status to Active, click Activate, and then click Activate.

8. Click Save.

Delete discounts

You can delete an existing discount in your Handshake sales channel.

Steps:

1. From your Shopify admin, click Settings > Apps and sales channels.

   1. From the Apps and sales channels page, click Handshake.
   2. Click Open sales channel.
   3. Click Discounts.
   4. Click the discount that you want to delete.
   5. Click Delete discount.
   6. Click Delete discount to confirm.
