Promoting your wholesale business to your retail customers

After you set up your Handshake supplier profile, you can promote your Handshake supplier profile and wholesale products to retailers.

If you use the Online Store sales channel, then you can add the Shop Wholesale button that directs your customers from your online to your supplier profile on the Handshake marketplace. For example, you can create a new page, such as a dedicated wholesale page to display this content or add it to your existing page in your online store.

You can also use the Handshake-branded social media templates to promote your products on social media or in your marketing campaigns.

Adding the Shop Wholesale button to your store

The Shop Wholesale button directs customers to your supplier profile on the Handshake marketplace. You can add the button anywhere within your online store, but you need to manually edit your store's code. It's recommended to create a dedicated wholesale page in your online store, and then add the Shop Wholesale button this page.

Step 1: Creating a dedicated wholesale page in your online store

Creating a wholesale page in your online store can be a good way to direct customers to your supplier profile on the Handshake marketplace. You can also promote your wholesale products by creating a call-to-action Shop Wholesale button, and add the new wholesale page to one of your store's menus.

To add a dedicated wholesale page to your store, you can either create a new page or edit an existing page. Use the page's Content field to add any additional information about your wholesale business that the Shop Wholesale button doesn't include.

Step 2: Add the Shop Wholesale button to your online store

You can add the Shop Wholesale button to a page, product or collection page. You need to manually copy and paste the button's code to your online store. You can have the Shop Wholesale button in multiple pages at the same time.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, click Settings > Apps and sales channels.

  2. From the Apps and sales channels page, click Handshake.

  3. Click Open sales channel.

  4. Click Growth.

  5. In the Shop Wholesale buttonn section, click Copy code.

  6. Navigate to the page, product ,or collection where you want to add the button:

    • To choose a product, click Products, and then click the product.
    • To choose a collection, click Products > Collections, and then click the collection.
    • To choose a page, click Online Store > Pages, and then click the page.
  7. Click <> to show the HTML.

  8. Paste the code where you want the button to appear, and then click Save.

Step 3: Add the page to your store's navigation

If you want customers to see your wholesale page in one of your store's menus, such as the main menu or footer menu, then you can add the page to your store's navigation.

Download the social media templates

You can download Handshake-branded social media templates, which you can edit and use in marketing campaigns on your social media accounts. The social media templates are downloadable PNG files that you can edit using third-party image editing software.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, click Settings > Apps and sales channels.

  2. From the Apps and sales channels page, click Handshake.

  3. Click Open sales channel.

  4. Click Growth.

  5. In the Social media templates section, click downloading that directs you to a shared Google Drive.

  6. Choose the template format and go to the corresponding folder. For example, if you want to use the template in an Instagram or Facebook story, then go to the IG/FB story format folder.

  7. Right click a template that you want to download, and then click Download.

  8. Edit the template on your computer using third-party image editing software, and then upload it to your social media accounts.
