Setting up your Handshake supplier profile

If your business is approved to sell on Handshake, then you can start setting up your Handshake supplier profile. You can add your branding and business information, set rules about ordering from your business, and configure your wholesale pricing. When you're ready to begin accepting wholesale orders, you can publish your supplier profile so that your products and profile appear on the Handshake marketplace.

Before you begin

Before you set up your supplier profile, make sure that you've completed the following tasks:

Step 1: Add a header image and a logo

You need to add a header image and a logo to customize your supplier profile on the Handshake marketplace. The header image and logo that you upload are automatically cropped from the center of the image. You can't adjust the positioning of the image after it's been uploaded. Use the following image specifications to set up your header image and logo.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, click Settings > Apps and sales channels.

  2. From the Apps and sales channels page, click Handshake.

  3. Click Open sales channel.

  4. Click Profile.

  5. Add a header image:

    1. In the Customization section, click Upload image.
    2. Choose an image from your computer's files.
  6. Add a logo:

    1. In the Customization section, click Upload logo.
    2. Choose an image from your computer's files.
  7. Click Save.

After you upload your header image and logo, you can preview how your Handshake supplier profile looks for retailers in the Customization section.

Step 2: Add more information about your brand

To differentiate yourself from other businesses, you can add extra information about your brand to your Handshake supplier profile. In the description, you can add information about your brand's vision, purpose, and story. You can also add your Facebook and Instagram account details for retailers to find and follow you on social media.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, click Settings > Apps and sales channels.

  2. From the Apps and sales channels page, click Handshake.

  3. Click Open sales channel.

  4. Click Profile.

  5. In the Details section, enter your brand name, description, and email address. Retailers can send messages to this email address.

  6. Optional: Add your business’s Facebook and Instagram account details.

  7. Click Save.

Step 3: Set up shipping rates

To process orders through Handshake, you need to set up your shipping settings on the Preferences page within the Handshake sales channel. You can set up custom shipping rates for your Handshake orders, or you can use your store's shipping rates.

Step 4: Set a minimum order value

You need to set a minimum order value that retailers need to place before they can order from your business. Your minimum order value is the lowest value order that you're willing to accept from a retailer.

For example, if you don't fulfill any orders under 200 USD, then you would enter 200 as your Minimum order value. Retailers can check your minimum order value on your Handshake supplier profile and on every product details page.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, click Settings > Apps and sales channels.

  2. From the Apps and sales channels page, click Handshake.

  3. Click Open sales channel.

  4. Click Preferences.

  5. In the Minimum order value section, enter a minimum order value.

  6. Click Save.

Step 5: Add information about your shipping and returns terms

You need to add information about your shipping and returns policies, such as order processing time, returns and refunds policy, shipping fees, shipping options, and any other important information related to shipping.

Retailers can check your shipping and retuns information on your Handshake supplier profile and on every product details page.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, click Settings > Apps and sales channels.

  2. From the Apps and sales channels page, click Handshake.

  3. Click Open sales channel.

  4. Click Preferences.

  5. In the Shipping and returns section, add information about your order processing and delivery times, returns, and refund policies.

  6. Click Save.

Step 6: Set up and price your wholesale products

To publish products on the Handshake marketplace, you need to set up your product details and add prices to products on the Products page within the Handshake sales channel.

Step 7: Publish your Handshake supplier profile

After you set up your settings and products, you can publish your Handshake supplier profile and make it live on handshake.com.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, click Settings > Apps and sales channels.

  2. From the Apps and sales channels page, click Handshake.

  3. Click Open sales channel.

  4. Click Profile.

  5. In the Status section, click Publish profile and then click Publish.

  6. Optional: Click View profile to check how your supplier profile displays on the Handshake marketplace.

If you want to unpublish your supplier profile, then click Unpublish profile in the Status section.
