Page sections for Brooklyn

Page sections are fixed sections that appear in specific places on your online store. For example, the Product section determines the appearance of each product page on your online store. You can customize page sections, but you can't rearrange or remove them. Learn how to customize these sections to suit your business.

Product pages

The product page displays all of the details about a product and includes an Add to cart button. Each product in your store has its own product page. You can customize the appearance and functionality of a product on a product page using the Product pages section.

The product pages section includes the following settings:

  • Enable image zoom - Let customers zoom in on product images.
  • Enable product sharing - Show buttons that customers can use to share products on social media. The sharing options that appear are controlled by your theme settings.
  • Show product vendor - Show the product brand or vendor. For a brand or vendor to show, you need to add a vendor to the product.
  • Image display - Set the way that product images are displayed.
  • Show quantity picker - Let customers add multiple products to the cart.
  • Picker type - Set the style of the quantity picker.
  • Show dynamic checkout button - Add a dynamic checkout button.
  • Product recommendations - Add a list of product recommendations.

Customize your product pages

  1. Next to Brooklyn, click Customize.
  2. Open the top bar drop-down menu.
  3. Select Product pages.
  4. Click the Product pages section.
  5. Use the settings to customize your product pages section.
  6. Click Save.

Product recommendations

You can display recommended products on product pages to make it easier for customers to discover other products that might interest them.

Enable product recommendations

  1. Next to Brooklyn, click Customize.
  2. Open the top bar drop-down menu.

  3. Select Product pages.

  4. Click the Product recommendations section.

  5. Check Show dynamic recommendations to show product recommendations on your product pages.

  6. Optional: To change the title that appears above the recommended products, enter a new one in the Heading field.

  7. Click Save.

Collection pages

A collection page displays all of the products that are a part of that collection. Each collection in your store has its own collection page.

Brooklyn has two layout options for collection pages:

  • Collage - The collage style displays a mix of larger and smaller product images.

    To learn how to set which products appear larger in a collage layout, refer to Tips for Brooklyn.

    A collection page shows one large product image, followed by two small product images that are vertically stacked.

  • Grid - The grid style displays product images in a table format. All of the product images are the same size.

    A collection page shows three images in a row that are the same height.

The collection pages section includes the following settings:

  • Show collection image - Show the collection image at the top of the collection page.
  • Enable collection sorting - Add a menu that customers can use to sort a collection in different ways, such as alphabetically or by price.
  • Enable tag filtering - Add a filter that customers can use to view products in a collection with a certain tag.
    Three tags are shown below the collection title:
    For the filter to be displayed on a collection page, you need to add tags to the products in that collection.
  • Grid style - Set the layout of your products on the page.
  • Show product vendor - Display the product brand or vendor.

Customize your collection pages

  1. Next to Brooklyn, click Customize.
  2. Open the top bar drop-down menu.

  3. Select Collection pages.

  4. Click the Collection pages section.

  5. Use the settings to customize your collection pages section.

  6. Click Save.

Collections list page

The Collections list page section is the main customizable section the collection list page. Your customers can use the collections list page to quickly browse through collections to find the collection they want to browse. It can show all of the collections in your store, or it can show a group of collections that you select.

The collection pages section includes the following settings:

  • Content - The collections you want to show on the collections list page. This list is used only if Select collections to show is set to Selected.
  • Select collections to show - Select which collections to display.
  • Sort collections by - Set how your collections are sorted. This setting is used only if Select collections to show is set to All.

Customize your collections list page

  1. Next to Brooklyn, click Customize.
  2. Open the top bar drop-down menu.
  3. Select Collections list.
  4. Click the Collections list page section.
  5. Optional: In the Content area, click Add Collection to add collections to the collections list page.
  6. Use the settings to customize your collections list page section.
  7. Click Save.

Article pages

The Article pages section is the main customizable section of your store's article pages. The Article template is used for items like blog posts. On your article pages, you can enable social sharing options so customers can share your articles with others.

Enable social sharing buttons on article pages

  1. Next to Brooklyn, click Customize.
  2. Open the top bar drop-down menu.
  3. Select Blog posts.
  4. Click the Article pages section.
  5. Check Show social sharing buttons to display social sharing buttons on your blog posts. You can choose which platforms can be used for sharing in your social media settings.
  6. Click Save.
