Theme editor enhancements
We rebuilt the theme editor to make it faster and easier to use, but most things have not changed. The rebuilt theme editor will be made available to stores starting on September 17, 2020, but not all stores will receive the update right away. You don't need to take any action to get access. When your store has access to the rebuilt theme editor, you'll notice the improvements listed below.
Accessing sections and theme settings
When you select a template to edit, you are now brought directly to the sections for the page template that you're editing, instead of needing to click the Sections tab to navigate there. The Sections and Theme settings tabs have been removed from the theme editor.
You can access the Theme settings from the theme editor sidebar. You can close the theme settings and return to the theme editor using the back arrow in the sidebar.

Leaving the editor
You can now return to the Shopify admin using the Exit button. This button works the same way as the previous purple "back to admin" button.
