Billing preferences for stores in organizations

If your organization isn't on the Shopify Plus plan, then each store in your organization is billed and invoiced separately. You can manage payment and review payment methods for your organization, and billing information for each store in your organization from the Billing section of your Shopify admin.

Manage payment methods

You can add and manage backup payment methods for your organization and update your payment methods at any time.

You can also add a payment method to a specific store in your organization by selecting the store from your store list, and then adding a payment method in the Current billing cycle section.

Manage Billing profiles

Each store's Billing profile displays the following information:

  • Billing address
  • Billing currency
  • Store Tax ID is unique to each store in your organization.

If your organization address is located within a region where Shopify is required by law to charge taxes on your account charges, then the charges are displayed in your organization's bill. Additionally, if your organization address is located in a jurisdiction that allows or requires providing a tax ID number, then you can add your tax ID number in Organization Settings at Billing > Billing profile.

You can update the Billing address and Tax ID for each store in your organization in the store's General settings.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Billing.

  2. In the Store billing section, select the store that you want to review.

  3. Click Billing Profile.

  4. In the Address and currency section, do any of the following:

    • click Manage to change your billing address.
    • In the Tax ID section, click Replace to change your VAT.
    • If you can use more than one currency in your location, then you can tap Manage to select a different billing currency.
  5. Save your changes.

Manage subscriptions

In the Subscriptions section of a store’s billing page, you can view active Shopify plan and app subscriptions for each store. You can select a subscription to upgrade or downgrade an app, uninstall an app, or update your plan.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Billing.

  2. In the Store billing section, select the store that you want to review.

  3. In the Subscriptions section, you can view any active subscriptions, their cost, billing cycle, and next renewal date.

  4. Click a subscription to view and manage the subscription’s billing.
