Online checkout experience for customers using Buy with Prime
By using their Amazon account details, your customers don't need to create a new account or enter their personal information at checkout. If an Amazon Prime member wants to edit the shipping address or payment method linked to their Amazon account, then they can update their Amazon account information at checkout.
Customers can check out with a single Prime-eligible item, or check out with multiple items including non-Prime items. A single-item, Prime-eligible purchase is initiated from a product page, a cart, or at checkout using the Prime module. A multi-item checkout is initiated from the Prime module in the customer's cart or at checkout.
When a customer initiates a Prime checkout, they experience the following:
- The customer verifies their Prime membership by logging in to their Amazon account:
- If the customer is already a Prime member, then they're taken to the checkout order review page, and they can use the saved shipping address and payment method from their Amazon account.
- If the customer isn't already a Prime member, then they're given the option to either start a free Prime trial or pay for a Prime membership.
- If a customer chooses not to continue with Prime, then they're redirected back to the product page, where they can then proceed to their cart or to checkout with a non-Buy-with-Prime option.
- If the purchase is initiated through a product page, then the customer is taken directly to checkout to review their details and complete their purchase.
- If the purchase is initiated through the cart or at checkout, then the customer can select from the available shipping options at checkout for their non-Prime eligible products. They can then review their purchase and make their payment.
