Enabling Meta Pay
Meta Pay enables customers to pay quickly and securely through your online store using an accelerated checkout process. When customers are logged on to Facebook, they can speed through checkout with their stored credentials and there is no need for them to sign in again. Plus, payment card numbers are encrypted for secure storage. The customer taps the Meta Pay button and then Meta Pay provides that information to the payment provider.

Requirements for Merchants to add Meta Pay
To activate the Meta Pay button, you need to have Shopify Payments set up, and your online store needs to be located in the United States.
Merchants don't need to have a Facebook account to add the Meta Pay option to an online store.
Requirements for Customers to use Meta Pay
To use Meta Pay for purchases, your customers need to be using an IP address based in the United States, and one of the following browsers:
- Safari or Chrome for desktop
- Safari for iOS
- Chrome for Android
Activate Meta Pay
To activate Meta Pay, you need to activate Meta Pay in your Shopify admin. If your store meets Meta’s commerce policies, then Meta Pay is activated within two days.
Use the following steps to activate Meta Pay in your Shopify admin.
Steps:
Desktop
From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Payments.
In the Shopify payments section, click Manage.
In the Wallets section, select Meta Pay.
Click Save.
iPhone
- From the Shopify app, tap the … button, and then tap Settings.
- In the Store settings section, tap Payments.
- In the Shopify payments section, click Manage.
- In the Wallets section, select Meta Pay.
- Click Save.
Android
- From the Shopify app, tap the … button, and then tap Settings.
- In the Store settings section, tap Payments.
- In the Shopify payments section, click Manage.
- In the Wallets section, select Meta Pay.
- Click Save.
Customer experience using Meta Pay
When a customer visits your online store using a supported browser, they have an accelerated checkout option using the Meta Pay button. If the customer taps the Meta Pay button, then their billing and shipping information is displayed. Customers can change their information before they complete their purchase if required.
If a customer has the Facebook app installed, then the app is used to authenticate their purchase. Otherwise, a customer can authenticate using a browser.

Meta Pay not showing in the Shopify admin
Meta Pay is only available to merchants on Shopify Payments.
Meta Pay not showing in checkout
The Meta Pay option displays at checkout for customers using Safari for iOS mobile devices, Chrome for Android mobile devices, and Safari or Chrome for customers on desktop.
Meta Pay isn't displayed in the checkout when the Company name field is Required as part of the checkout process.
