Deactivating additional payment methods

If you no longer require certain payment methods on your Shopify store, then you can deactivate them.

Deactivate additional payment methods

Desktop

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Payments.
2. In the Supported payment methods section, find the provider in the list.
3. Click Manage.
4. Click Deactivate.

iPhone

1. From the Shopify app, tap the … button, and then tap Settings.
2. In the Store settings section, tap Payments.
3. In the Supported payment methods section, find the provider in the list.
4. Click Manage.
5. Click Deactivate.

Android

1. From the Shopify app, tap the … button, and then tap Settings.
2. In the Store settings section, tap Payments.
3. In the Supported payment methods section, find the provider in the list.
4. Click Manage.
5. Click Deactivate.

Deactivate an additional payment method app

If you no longer need an additional payment method app, then you can deactivate it. After you deactivate the app, it's removed from your list of available payment methods, but it's still available if you need it for cases such as order returns.

Caution

Don't uninstall an additional payment method app. Uninstalling an additional payment method app means that it won't be available for use with any outstanding order returns.

Steps:

1. In the Supported payment methods section, find the provider in the list.
2. Click Manage.
3. Click Deactivate.
4. Click Deactivate Payments App.
