PayPal allows payment through credit cards, bank accounts, buyer credit, or PayPal account balances. You can use PayPal as a payment provider for customer checkout and processing for your Shopify store.
PayPal is one of Shopify’s default payment providers. As soon as you open a Shopify store, you’re given a Paypal Express Checkout account. Because PayPal requires your email to create the PayPal Express Checkout account, Shopify will share your email with PayPal. You should finish setting up your PayPal account or deactivate PayPal from the Payments setting in your Shopify admin to avoid exposing your email publicly.
Third-party transaction fees apply on all third-party and alternate payment gateways even if Shopify Payments is activated. However, if you have Shopify Payments activated, then PayPal and manual payments are excluded from third-party transaction fees.
For Plus merchants, third-party transaction fees might be waived when activating Shopify Payments, depending on your location. Contact Shopify Support for more information.
Depending on your store's location, you might be able to use PayPal to pay your Shopify bills. This payment method isn't available in the United States or India. For more information, refer to the billing FAQ and managing your billing information.
