Sell in multiple currencies with Shopify Payments
When you sell to multiple countries or regions, your customers can view prices in your store, pay for their orders at checkout, and receive refunds in their local currency. You can choose to have prices converted automatically using the current market exchange rate, or converted manually using an exchange rate that you choose.
Depending on your Shopify plan, you can use international pricing features to control prices for different countries and regions. If your store is on the Shopify plan or higher, then you can set price adjustments and custom rounding rules for different countries or regions. To set product prices by country or region, your store needs to be on the Advanced Shopify plan.
If you're selling in multiple currencies, then you can add a country selector to your theme so that customers can select their local country or region so that your store displays their local currency.
Limitations
The following list of limitations and exclusions apply when selling in multiple currencies:
Selling in multiple currencies is only supported by Shopify Payments, which includes Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal in addition to the other Shopify Payments methods. Orders that are placed using other third-party payment providers are processed in your store's default currency.
Selling in multiple currencies is supported in your online store and in a headless environment using the Storefront API. Shopify POS supports your store currency only. You can't sell in multiple currencies in any other channels.
You can send draft orders in multiple currencies, however if the payment is deferred, then you can't send the invoice to the customer from the order. You can Mark as paid and Pay by credit card.
You can't edit orders that were placed in a currency other than your default store currency. Although you can't edit the order, you can refund the order, then create a draft order and email an invoice in your customer's local currency.
Some banks and credit card issuers may charge customers extra international transaction fees even if the credit card is charged in local currency.
You can view your reports only in your store currency.
Some currency conversion apps in the Shopify App Store aren't compatible with selling in multiple currencies with Shopify Payments. Some apps can cause prices to be displayed in a customers chosen currency, but at checkout the currency reverts back to the store's default currency. You should use the Geolocation app by Shopify to help customers browse your store in their local prices.
Location-based tax settings
If you sell internationally, then you can include or exclude taxes in your product prices based on your customer's location. Customers in some countries, such as the United Kingdom, expect prices to include taxes, while customers in other countries, such as the United States, expect taxes to be added at checkout.
To display your prices as buyers in different countries expect them, enable dynamic tax-inclusive pricing in your admin.
If you've set up a tax registration for a country or region, then dynamic tax-inclusive pricing automatically includes the local tax rate in your storefront prices for the following countries and regions. All other countries and regions have their prices displayed without taxes included.
