US state privacy law timeline

In January 2020, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) took effect. In January 2023, the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) amendments to the CCPA and the Virginia law took effect. In July 2023, the Colorado and Connecticut laws took effect. The Utah law takes effect at the end of 2023.
