Marketing app data sharing
Some supported third-party email and SMS marketing apps integrate with Shopify to share customer events data across different marketing channels. This shared data can provide you with insights about customer browsing and buying behaviors across different marketing channels. After you connect a third-party app for data sharing, it displays as a Channel in your marketing attribution reports. Learn more about measuring the results of your marketing campaigns.
There are two types of behavioral data that an app can send to Shopify:
- Customer events data is provided by email and SMS apps, and includes data about emails that a customer received, opened and clicked, as well as SMS messages received and clicked.
- Marketing engagement data is provided by advertising apps, and shares data about ad cost and impressions at all levels of granularity, including channel, campaign, ad group, and ad.
