Automating forms processing with Shopify Flow

Shopify Flow is an ecommerce automation platform that helps you automate tasks and processes within your Shopify store and across your apps. You can automatically process customer submissions collected through Shopify Forms by using the Metaobject entry created trigger in Shopify Flow.

Requirements

Your store needs to meet the following requirements to automate forms processing using Shopify Flow:

• Your store must have the Shopify Flow app installed.
• Your store must have the Shopify Forms app installed, and have at least one active form created to apply a Shopify Flow template to.

Supported Shopify Flow templates for forms processing

You can install the following Shopify Flow templates in your Shopify admin to process submissions for a form:

• Send an internal email to a recipient of your choice after a form submission creates a metaobject entry
• Send marketing emails after a form submission creates a new metaobject
• Add a row to a Google spreadsheet after a form submission creates a new metaobject entry

Apply a Shopify Flow template to a form

After you create a form, you can use one of the supported forms processing templates to process your form submissions. You can use 1 Metaobject entry created trigger per flow for a form.

Steps:

1. Select a template from the list of Shopify Flow forms processing templates, and then click Install.
2. Click the Metaobject entry created trigger.
3. From the Metaobject definition drop-down menu, select the form that you want to process submissions for.
4. Edit any other necessary fields in the template, and then click Turn on workflow.
