Migrate your legacy custom reports to the new Shopify Analytics
The Legacy custom reports tab contains all your existing custom reports which also use the previous analytics framework. For an optimized experience, you should migrate your existing custom reports over to the new Shopify Analytics to take advantage of the enhanced data capabilities and display features, such as the configuration panel and visualizations.
If you don't migrate your custom reports, then your custom reports will eventually be deprecated and no longer accessible.
When a custom report is migrated to the new Analytics framework, it's removed from the Legacy custom reports list and displays in the New tab instead.
Migration status
Each custom report has a Migration status listed which indicates whether or not the report is ready to be migrated to the new Analytics framework. Custom reports are classified with the following statuses:
- Ready: The report is ready to be migrated as-is, either manually or in bulk.
- Needs review: The report contains elements which can be migrated, but also contains data that might be missing or can't be migrated. You're required to Preview the report to confirm how the report will display using the new Analytics framework.
- Not yet ready: The report isn't eligible to migrate yet, but will become eligible at a later date.
- Can't be migrated: The report is completely incompatible with the new Analytics framework. To keep your report data, export the report.
Only the reports marked as Ready can be migrated to the new Analytics framework in bulk. All other reports must be reviewed individually and migrated manually to the new Analytics framework.
Migrate a custom report manually
You can migrate custom reports individually when their status is Ready or Needs review.
Steps:
- From your Shopify admin, go to Analytics > Reports.
- Click the Legacy custom reports tab.
- Click the name of the custom report that you want to migrate.
- Depending on the status of the report, do one of the following actions:
- If the custom report is Ready to migrate, then click Migrate now.
- If the custom report Needs review, then click Preview to confirm how the report will display when migrated. To complete the report migration, click Save.
Your custom report is now available in the New tab.
Migrate custom reports in bulk
You can migrate the reports marked as Ready in bulk to the new Analytics framework.
Steps:
- From your Shopify admin, go to Analytics > Reports.
- Click the Legacy custom reports tab.
- Select the checkboxes next to the names of the custom reports that you want to migrate, or click the checkbox at the top of the list to select all available reports.
- Click Migrate.
Your custom reports are now available in the New tab.
