Limitations for using the Epson FP-81 II RT receipt printer

You can't add the following additional details to the Epson FP-81 II RT receipts:

• Another fee, for example, the revenue stamp, to orders processed with Shopify POS.
• The customers’ VAT number or Fiscal Code at check out.
• The customers’ VAT number or CF on the Fiscal receipt.

Plug in your Epson FP-81 II RT receipt printer

Before you can use the FP-81 II RT receipt printer, you need to connect your printer to the power supply.

Steps:

1. Plug one end of the power cable into the back of your receipt printer.
2. Plug the other end of the cable into a power outlet and turn on the printer.

If the paper is loaded, then a diagnostic report prints.

Connect the Epson FP-81 II RT receipt printer with your POS device

Note

To ensure data integrity and legal compliance, RT (Telematic Recorder) fiscal printers must be certified, installed and configured by an authorized technician.

The Epson FP-81 II RT receipt printer connects to your network using an Ethernet cable. To use this printer, you must have a network set up in your location and a router that you can connect to your printer to using an Ethernet cable.

Steps:

1. Connect your printer to the power supply and turn the receipt printer on using the power switch.
2. Insert a roll of thermal printing paper into the printer.
3. Connect the receipt printer to the Ethernet port on your router and verify that your Network and SSL connection are activated in your printer settings. This makes the printer discoverable in the Shopify POS app.
4. In the Shopify POS app, tap the connectivity symbol in the navigation, and then tap Set up a new device.
5. Tap Receipt printer.
6. The Shopify POS app scans for available printers. If a printer is found and isn't password protected, then it connects automatically. If a printer is found and is password protected, then you can enter the password to connect. If no printer is found, then you can enter the DHCP address to connect.
7. Confirm that your printer is connected under Receipt Printers.

After connecting your printer, don't forget to:

• Set it as the default printer (optional)
• Print a test receipt
• Test the connection to the cash drawer (if applicable)

Turn on your SSL connection for the Epson FP-81 II RT receipt printer

You can turn onn your SSL connection for your receipt printer.

Steps:

1. Connect your keypad and display to the printer.
2. On the numeric keypad, enter 3333 and then press Chiave. The custom screen will display S - SCELTA FUNZIONE.
3. Enter 34, and then press Contante until WEB SERVER: SSL displays.
4. Change X to 1 and then press Contante.
5. Press Chiave to exit the menu, and then restart the printer.

Find your IP address (DHCP address) for the Epson FP-81 II RT receipt printer

You might need to find the IP address for you Epson FP-81 II RT receipt printer.

Steps:

1. Connect your keypad and display to the printer.
2. On the numeric keypad, enter 3333 and then press Chiave. The custom screen will display S - SCELTA FUNZIONE.
3. Enter 19, and then press with Contante to enter the LAN configuration.
4. Enter 1 to activate DHCP, and then press Contante. The DHCP address displays.
5. Press the , button and then Chiave to exit the menu.
6. Optional: If you want to print network connection information, then press Sub Totale.

Fiscal closing for the Epson FP-81 II RT receipt printer

When you connect your receipt printer to your POS app, you can send all recorded transactions to your local tax authority for all devices connected to the same printer.

Note

The RT settings for fiscal closing data will only be accessible if the Epson FP-81 II RT receipt printer is set up and connected by Epson.

You can manually send fiscal closing data by tapping Send fiscal closing, or you can activate a setting to automatically send fiscal closing data daily at the end of each day.

Steps

1. From the Shopify POS, tap the connectivity symbol in the navigation, and then tap RT.
2. Tap Send fiscal closing to make changes.
3. Toggle the Automatically send fiscal closing daily at 23:59 on or off.

Customize receipts for the Epson FP-81 II RT receipt printer

You can customize the fields that display on your receipts in the receipt editor in the Shopify POS app and in your Shopify admin.

Lottery code for the Epson FP-81 II RT receipt printer

When using your receipt printer, you can add the lottery code to your receipts. This option can be accessed under More actions in your cart in the Shopify POS app.
