Completing and refunding orders
You can make refunds and complete partial payments from the Shopify POS Orders screen.
Complete a partial payment
To complete a partial payment:
On the Orders screen, tap the order that you want to take payment for.
In the Outstanding section, tap Take Payment:
Tap Add payment, and then select a payment method.
Enter the amount that the customer will be paying.
Tap Accept or Charge.
Refund an order
You can refund an entire order or part of an order from the Shopify POS Orders screen.
Steps
From Shopify POS, tap Orders.
Tap the order of the item being returned.
Tap Refund or exchange, and then tap the item that's being returned. If the customer is returning more than one of the item, then use the
+
and-
to enter the quantity that you're refunding.Optional: Tap Add more return items to add more products to the return.
Optional: If you don't want to return the items to your inventory, then disable the Restock option. Refunded items are added to the inventory of your Shopify POS app's assigned location.
Optional: Tap Add Shipping to refund the cost of shipping.
Optional: Enable Refund balance to gift card to issue a gift card to the customer for the refund amount.

If the customer used more than one payment method, then you can split the refund between the same payment methods that they used. Enter the amount that you want to refund to each payment method in the Refund amount section.
Optional: Add a reason for the return.
When you're ready to process the refund, tap Refund.
Optional: Provide a receipt to the customer.
Optional: Add a note to the order.
Tap Done.
Mark an order as fulfilled
If a completed Shopify POS order is marked in your Orders screen as Not Fulfilled, you can't mark it as fulfilled from the Shopify POS app. You must log in to your Shopify admin to fulfill the order.
You can mark an order as fulfilled while it's still in the cart:
From the Shopify POS products screen, tap the
...
icon:Enable the Mark as fulfilled option.
Tap outside the tray area to close it, and then continue with the order.
Complete a refund on an exchange order
When you exchange an item, the order for that item becomes an Exhange order. Items that are part of an exchange order can be refunded only from the Shopify Admin.
Steps
From Shopify POS, tap Store > Orders.
Tap the exchange order that you want to refund.
In the Return prompt, tap View on Shopify.
In the Paid section, tap Refund.
Set the quantity of each item that you are refunding.
Optional: Enter a reason for the refund.
Tap Refund.
