Using store credit on Shopify POS
Store credit is an available payment method for both online and in-person sales. You can activate and display store credit in your Shopify POS app.
After you issue store credit to a customer, they can apply their store credit to any in-person transaction at your retail locations. You can also review a customer's available store credit balance from the Shopify POS app, and process store credit as a refund for in-person returns.
Some other examples of when you might want to issue store credit to a customer include the following scenarios:
- as a goodwill gesture
- as a form of customer retention
- as part of a marketing campaign
- as a reward or incentive, such as a loyalty or referral program
