Considerations for customizing printed receipts
Depending on your Shopify POS subscription plan, you can customize the template for your printed receipts with the visual editor or the code editor, and adjust your receipt printing options.
To edit your email and SMS receipts for POS, go to Settings > Notifications > POS and mobile receipt.

Requirements for customizing printed receipts
Review the following eligibility requirements for customizing printed receipts and printing options:
- You must have at least one location with the Shopify POS Pro subscription to use the following printed receipt customization features:
- the receipt code editor
- full customization options for the visual editor
- printing options
- You can add a custom header and footer from the visual editor for locations with the Shopify POS Lite subscription.
Considerations for customizing printed receipts
Before you customize the templates for your printed receipts, review the following considerations:
- If you have staff with POS PINs, then you can remove access to the receipt customization settings by selecting the Limited permissions option from your Staff settings screen. Learn more about assigning staff permissions.
- Any colors added to a receipt template, such as by custom styling, or adding a logo with color, are converted to greyscale.
- To make changes to all of your locations at one time, you need to use the Point of Sale channel in your Shopify admin on a desktop device.
- You can use the following printed receipt customization features from your Shopify admin, the Shopify app, or your POS app:
- You can use the code editor only from your Shopify admin on desktop.
- You can't add a logo to your receipts from the Shopify POS app.
