Communicating with Experts
After you request a job, you're automatically matched with qualified Shopify Experts through the Services Marketplace. After an Expert responds to the matched job request, your next step is to start a conversation. You can do this directly through the Services Marketplace.
Communicate with Experts through Services Marketplace
You can send messages to matched Experts from the Jobs section of Services Marketplace.
From your Shopify admin, click the account menu, and then click Hire a Shopify expert:
Click the name of the job that you want to discuss.
Click the name of the Expert that you want to contact.
Enter your message in the text field, and click Send. When the Expert replies, their response appears on this page.
You can also reply to the emails that are sent to inform you about the job. Your replies are added automatically to the conversation in the Services Marketplace.
When you're communicating with Experts, make sure that you give enough detail about your job request. It's important to be clear in what you are asking for, so that you and the Expert understand the project fully and agree about what will be delivered when the job's done.
We expect both you and the Expert to answer messages promptly and clearly. It's important to be clear about expectations, price, and milestones to avoid any misunderstandings or wasted time.
If you and an Expert can't come to terms about your job request, or if you have concerns about the work that's been done, then contact Shopify support.
Collaborating with experts
Depending on the job, you might be required to give an Expert access your Shopify admin. The best way to do this is by creating a collaborator account. Collaborator accounts give access to only the sections of your store that you want the Expert to see, and do not count towards your store's staff limit.
