Bundles for Shopify Fulfillment Network

A bundle is a product that combines a number of other products. When a bundle is sold, all of the items that make up the bundle are fulfilled. For example, a bundle can be a suit that includes trousers and a jacket. Products in a bundle can also be sold separately.

If you want Shopify Fulfillment Network (SFN) to fulfill your bundles, and your products meet all the requirements, then you can set up a bundle in your SFN app.

Products that are included in a bundle are stored separately in SFN can also be sold as individual items. After SFN receives an order that contains a bundle, SFN picks and packs items that belong to the bundle and fulfills them.

The stock-keeping unit (SKU) for a bundle is called the bundle SKU, while each product within the bundle has a component SKU.

Requirements for setting up a bundle for SFN

Before you can set up bundles in SFN, your products need to meet the following requirements:

You can add the products for your bundle through your Shopify admin without having to use an inbound transfer.

To ship internationally, your bundle SKUs and component SKUs must have a price that's greater than 0 USD.

If you sell products that use the same item as other products, then you can set those products as bundles and select the item as a component SKU.

Available component quantities for your bundles

To sell your bundles, SFN must have enough component SKUs in stock to create each bundle. When SFN doesn't have enough component SKUs in stock at any fulfillment center to create a single bundle, then your bundle has zero Available quantity and is displayed as out of stock on your store.

The Available quantity of your bundle is determined by the following calculations:

  • The quantity of bundles depends on the Available quantity of component SKUs and the amount of each that are required to make the bundle.
  • The total available quantity of bundles is the sum of the quantity of bundles that can be made across the SFN network.
  • Bundle availability calculation doesn't account for preorders, reservations, and pending fulfillment requests for its components.

For example, assume that a hair wash bundle requires one shampoo and one conditioner component product. If you have 10 shampoos and 15 conditioners in stock throughout our network, then you can sell 10 of those bundles.
