Product created

The Product created trigger starts a workflow when a user in your organization or a third-party app adds a new product in the Shopify admin or via API.

Note

The Product created trigger starts when any new product is added in the Shopify admin, whether or not it is added to the Online Store sales channel.

This trigger only applies to new products. It does not start when a new variant is added to an existing product. For workflows that start when a new variant is added, use the Product variant added trigger instead.

This trigger provides an product, so it enables you to use any action that requires an product, including:

• Add product to collections
• Create redirect URL
• Delete redirect URLs
• Hide product
• Publish product
• Remove product from collections
• Remove product metafield

Testing the Product created trigger

To test a workflow that starts with this trigger, create a new product in the Shopify admin.
