Shopify Flow
Shopify Flow is an ecommerce automation platform that you can use to automate tasks and processes within your store and across your apps. To use Shopify Flow, you must first install the Shopify Flow app from the Shopify App store. After it's installed, you can then access the app in your Shopify admin.
Shopify Flow is an event-based feature that lets you to create automated workflows. Shopify Flow monitors your store for events, and lets you create an automated sequence of actions that are taken in response. To create these automations, you build a workflow using components, such as triggers, conditions, and actions.
Workflow component | Description | Example |
---|---|---|
Trigger | A trigger is an event that starts a workflow, and can be something that happens in your store or in an app. | A new order is created in your store. |
Condition | A condition determines whether an action is taken, based on the conditions that you set. | A condition is set to check whether the total amount paid for the order is over 200 USD. |
Action | An action is a change that's made to your store or in an app when the condition is met. | If the total amount paid for the order is over 200 USD, then a tag is added to the account of the customer who placed the order. |
Shopify Flow is available on Basic, Shopify, Advanced, and Plus plans. Most Shopify Flow features are available across plans. The differences between plans include:
- Merchants on the Shopify, Advanced, and Plus plans can use the Send HTTP Request task.
- Merchants on the Plus plan can use tasks created by custom partner apps.
- Merchants are given different usage limits in Shopify Flow according to the API limits governed by their plan.
