Charges on your Shopify bills

This section provides information about the types of charges that you can receive on your Shopify bills, including taxes and third-party charges, and how you can handle double charges or unknown charges.

The bills that you receive for your Shopify account might display the following charges depending on where your store is located and what services your store uses:

  • Recurring charges: Charges that are billed every 30 days, such as subscription plan costs and recurring app fees. Apps are billed on a different cycle to Shopify plan subscriptions.
  • Pay-per-use charges: Charges that are billed based on usage, such as transaction fees and shipping labels.
  • One-time charges: Charges that are billed immediately upon confirmation, such as purchasing a theme or first-time domain charges.

Your bills are paid using your primary payment method. Shopify billing charges are displayed on your bank or card statement as SHOPIFY * <9-digit bill number>.
