About the Shopify Partner Program
The Shopify Partner Program recognizes and rewards partners who help merchants build, grow, and scale on Shopify. Starting January 1, 2027, partners are recognized across four tiers: Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. Your tier is based on your attributed gross merchandise volume (GMV) and your number of attributed shops. Each tier unlocks more benefits and partner support as you grow.

Partner Program tiers
All partners start on the Registered tier when they join. From there, you can move up to the following tiers:
- Silver
- Gold
- Platinum
- Diamond
Partner Program tier requirements
Each tier has two requirements: a minimum attributed GMV and a minimum number of attributed shops. You need to meet both. Shops count equally on every Shopify plan.
Attributed shops are the shops that you launched or transferred to a merchant. Attributed GMV is the total sales of those shops during the measurement period.
| Tier | Attributed GMV | Attributed shops | Measured over |
|---|---|---|---|
| Registered | No minimum | No minimum | Not applicable |
| Silver | $25K | 1 | 1 year |
| Gold | $5M | 5 | 4 years |
| Platinum | $50M | 20 | 4 years |
| Diamond | $500M | 25 | 4 years |
To review your tier status, go to your Dev Dashboard, open Organization settings, and then click Partner program.
Starting January 1, 2027, tiers update daily. When you qualify for a higher tier, you move up automatically and keep that tier for at least six months.

Frequently asked questions
What changes on January 1, 2027?
All partners move to the tier their results earn under the new requirements, and keep it for at least six months. The Select, Plus, and Premier tiers retire. Depending on your attributed GMV and shops, your tier might go up, go down, or stay the same.
When can I see my new tier?
Starting November 4, 2026, you can preview your 2027 tier and your progress in your Dev Dashboard.
How often are tiers updated?
Starting January 1, 2027, tiers update daily. When you qualify for a higher tier, you move up automatically and keep that tier for at least six months.
What counts toward attributed GMV?
Attributed GMV is the total sales from your attributed shops, net of refunds, across all sales channels such as online store, POS, and B2B.
What counts as an attributed shop?
A shop counts when you launch it or transfer it to a merchant, on any Shopify plan. Development, test, staff, and sandbox stores don't count. Collaborator access or a referral submission on its own doesn't count.
What happens if I refer a merchant but don't launch the shop?
Tier credit goes to the partner who launches the shop or transfers it to the merchant. Referring a merchant on its own doesn't earn tier credit, but you can still earn referral payouts.
What if another partner adds a product (like POS or B2B) to a merchant I launched?
You keep the shop and all of its GMV. The partner who added the product gets its GMV from the date they added it, but not the shop.
What if a merchant I launched cancels or pauses their store?
The shop still counts while it's within your measurement period, along with the GMV it earned during that time.
How does the measurement period work for attributed shops and attributed GMV?
Silver is measured over 1 year, and Gold, Platinum, and Diamond over 4 years. Shops and GMV from within that period count toward your tier, and older activity drops off as the period moves forward.
Does my past work count?
Yes. Shops you've launched or transferred in the last 4 years count toward your tier from day one, along with their GMV.
How does the 6-month tier lock work?
When you move up to a tier, including your new tier on January 1, 2027, you keep it for at least six months, even if your attributed GMV or shops drop below the requirements. If you qualify for a higher tier during those six months, you move up right away, and a new six-month lock starts.
What happens after the 6-month tier lock?
Your tier is reviewed against the requirements. If you still qualify, you’ll keep your tier. If not, you’ll move to the tier you qualify for.
How can I move up faster?
Launch or transfer more shops to merchants. Every Shopify plan counts, and GMV counts across all sales channels. Your progress updates daily in your Dev Dashboard.
What do the different partner management models mean?
Silver and higher tiers include partner management support:
- Advisory: Shopify offers best practices, resources, and guidance to help you grow through our Partner program resources.
- Strategic: Shopify proactively collaborates on planning, strategy, and merchant solutions to help drive your business's growth.
- Embedded: Shopify works alongside the partner as an integrated extension of their business and technical teams.
How do co-marketing funds work?
Co-marketing funds support approved partner marketing activities. Shopify determines eligibility and funding based on campaign alignment, viability, and expected return on investment (ROI), measured by leads and converted leads per dollar spent. Your tier does not require you to run co-marketing campaigns.
- Gold: One-off, needs-based activities with a clear scope and simple execution.
- Platinum: Recurring campaigns on a quarterly cadence that build momentum and pipeline, with closer coordination and ongoing optimization.
- Diamond: Large, integrated campaigns or programs to reach established brands, with planning across teams and regions.
Where can I see my tier and progress?
Go to your Dev Dashboard, open Organization settings, and then click Partner program. You can see your current tier, your progress toward the next tier, and the requirements for each tier.
When can I use my new tier badge?
Starting January 1, 2027, you can download your tier badge from Organization settings in your Dev Dashboard.
I have more than one partner ID. Can they count together?
Yes. Contact your partner manager to ask for your partner IDs to be combined, and choose one as your primary ID. Shopify reviews each request. After approval, your tier is calculated from the unique shops and GMV across all of your IDs, and every ID shares that tier.
How does this apply to technology (app and theme) partners?
These tiers apply to service and agency partners. Technology partners participate through the Shopify App Store, and the app and theme program changes introduced in early 2026 still apply.
My tier looks incorrect in Dev Dashboard. Who can I contact?
For questions about your tier, contact your partner manager if you have one, or contact Shopify Support from your Partner Account.
