Archiving stores

When you no longer want to work on a development store, you can archive it so that it's removed from the Stores page in your Partner Dashboard. After you archive a store, you can unarchive it later if you want to continue working on it.

Archive a development store

After you archive a development store, it no longer displays in the list of stores on the Stores page in your Partner Dashboard.

Steps:

  1. From your Partner Dashboard, click Stores.
  2. Beside the store that you want to archive, click Actions > Archive.

Unarchive a development store

If you need to restore a development store that you've archived, then you can unarchive it. After you unarchive a development store, it displays again in the list of stores on the Stores page in your Partner Dashboard.

Steps:

  1. From your Partner Dashboard, click Stores.
  2. Click the Archived tab.
  3. Beside the store you want to unarchive, click Unarchive.

Deactivate a development store

After deactivating the development store, it automatically moves to the Inactive tab in the stores listing in your Partner Dashboard, and no longer displays in the list of active stores.

Steps:

  1. Log into the Shopify admin from your Partner Dashboard.
  2. Go to Store settings > Plan.
  3. Click Deactivate store.
  4. Select a reason you are closing the store.
  5. Click Continue.

To reactivate a development store, you can do one of the following:

  • If the store is for a client, then you need to select a plan and enter a valid payment method.
  • If the store is for testing and building, then contact Shopify Support by logging into your Partner account from the Help Center. When you log in, select your Partner organization name for questions related to your Partner Account, and then select either chat or email support.
