Overview of the Partner Directory

The Shopify Partner Directory provides multiple ways for merchants to discover, learn about, and connect with Shopify Partners. It serves as an important resource for finding the right partner to meet their specific needs.

Searching, browsing, and filtering the Partner Directory

Merchants can find Shopify Partners through various options:

  • Search functionality: Merchants can search for specific Partners or by the type of service they need assistance with.
  • Browse by service: Merchants can explore Partners grouped by the services they offer.
  • Filtering options: To narrow down their options, merchants can filter Partners based on various criteria from your profile, including:
    • Availability of new clients
    • Price range
    • Services offered
    • Location (country or region)
    • Industry
    • Languages spoken
    • Partner tier

Sorting Options

Merchants can sort their search results either by the default ranking algorithm or by the Partner's average rating.

Default ranking algorithm: Partners are ranked based on various factors, including:

  • Trust and performance
  • Quality of work
  • User location

This ranking algorithm promotes active participation, referrals, collaborations, Shopify certifications, and ensures that local partners are highlighted for easier connections.

Partner tiers

The Partner Directory categorizes Partners into the following four distinct tiers:

  • Select Partners: Best for small and medium-sized businesses.
  • Plus Partners: Best suited for mid-market and larger businesses.
  • Premier Partners: Designed for large enterprises.
  • Platinum Partners: Tailored for global enterprise businesses.

Contacting a Partner

After a merchant has identified a Partner, they can reach out through the Partner Directory lead form. This feature allows logged-in merchants to provide their contact information and details about their project, including:

  • Store URL
  • Required service
  • Budget
  • Description of their issue or goal

The completed lead form is sent to the contact email listed in your Partner Directory profile. You can then use this information to contact the merchant directly.

Working with a merchant

After connecting with a merchant, you can use your preferred communication tools and processes to:

  • Define how you will work together
  • Set the terms of service
  • Arrange payments for your work

Reviews in the Partner Directory

Partners can request a review from merchants they’ve collaborated with when the following conditions are met:

  • The partner is listed in the Partner Directory and has the right permissions to request reviews.
  • The merchant accepted a collaborator access request from the partner.
  • The partner and merchant have been collaborating together for more than 1 week.
  • The merchant has not already submitted a review for the partner.

If no request is made within 90 days of the collaboration start date, an automatic review request will be sent to the merchant if contact was initiated through the Partner Directory.

Submitting a review

To submit a review, the merchant selects the relevant service, rates the Partner’s quality of work and communication, and optionally leaves additional comments. Reviews are displayed on the Partner’s profile in the Partner Directory within 48 hours of submission, provided the merchant is on a paid plan.
