If your theme doesn't include all of the fonts that you want to use on your online store, then you can add custom fonts to your theme.

You can add a selection of premium fonts to your theme by using Shopify's font library. The library includes system fonts, a selection of Google fonts, and licensed fonts from Monotype.

If you want to add fonts from Typekit instead, then see Use Typekit fonts.

Before you edit your theme code

Before you edit your theme code, it's a good idea to do the following tasks:

  • Check the settings for your theme in the theme editor. If there's a setting for the change that you want to make, then you don't need to edit your theme code.
  • Duplicate your theme to create a backup copy. This makes it easy to discard your changes and start again if you need to.
  • Make sure that you understand what level of support is available.
