Launchpad guidelines and limitations
Guidelines for creating Launchpad events, including limitations related to collections and scheduling.
Here are some things you might need to consider when creating, scheduling, and running events in your store:
You cannot run or schedule overlapping events. If you have an event scheduled that does not have an end date and you want to start another event after the scheduled event, then you must edit the scheduled event and set an end date before you create the other event. You also need to schedule your events five minutes apart.
You cannot add a collection to an event, which has more than 1000 products. But, you can have multiple collections that each have 1000 products. If you create an event that's based on specific collections, then make sure that the collections don't contain more than 1000 products each.
You can add the same product more than once to an event. For example you you add a product and then you add a collection that also has this product. When a product is added multiple times to an event, it is likely that it can be offered at different prices. When such a difference in price occurs, it is resolved as follows:
- if the product has a set price (that is, the product was added individually to the event), then your customer is offered this price.
- if there is no set price for the product (that is, the product was added to the event as part of a collection), then the lowest discounted price is offered to your customer.
For example, you create an event that includes a seasonal collection at a 10% discount and a weekly collection at a 30% discount. A red shirt is in both collections. During the event, the red shirt will be offered to your customers at the 30% discount. Later, you create a different event and you add the same two collections and you add the red shirt for the set price of $10. When this new event runs, the shirt will be offered to your customers for $10.
