One of the most compelling features of the Product Reviews app is its support for Google microdata, sometimes referred to as rich snippets or structured data.
Product Reviews automatically adds an aggregate review score that appears in your search results on Google and adds a powerful way to increase traffic from organic searches:
Google doesn't allow microdata information to be included in AdWords or Product Listing Ads. Your aggregate review scores will appear only in your organic search results. Ultimately, Google decides what data to display, which means your data might not show up 100% of the time.
To have your aggregate review scores appear on your store, Google first has to index your website. This can take up to 7 days.
If you would like to test to make sure that the review scores are appearing correctly, you can use the Google Structured Data Testing Tool.
To test your SEO-friendly review scores:
Make sure Product Reviews is installed successfully.
Go to the Google Structured Data Testing Tool page.
Enter the URL of one of your products:
Click the Preview button.
You should see a preview of how your page will appear in Google Search results, including your review score.
