Getting started with Shopify Mobile

To use Shopify Mobile, you need to first create a Shopify store. After you've created your store, you can use the same credentials to log in to Shopify Mobile.

When you log in to Shopify Mobile for the first time, the screen that you see is the Dashboard. The Dashboard gives you an overview of your store's recent activity, which helps you decide what actions you need to take, such as capturing a payment, archiving an order, or ordering stock.

Install and log in to Shopify Mobile

After you've created a Shopify store, you can install Shopify Mobile and log in to the app using the same credentials.

To log in to Shopify Mobile for the first time:

  1. Install Shopify Mobile for iPhone.
  2. When Shopify Mobile is installed, tap the app to open it.
  3. Tap Sign In.
  4. Enter your store's name, and then tap Done:

  5. Enter your email address and password, and then tap Go:

  6. After Shopify Mobile has loaded your store's data, tap Your store is ready.
  7. If you want to allow push notifications, then tap OK. If you don't want to allow push notifications, then tap Don't Allow:

    Note

    You can turn notifications on or off at any time from the Shopify Mobile Settings screen.

View recent store activity from the Dashboard

The Shopify Mobile Dashboard screen shows an overview of your store's recent activity. From the Dashboard you can quickly see what might need your attention, such as open orders, expiring payment authorizations, and out-of-stock product variants.

The Dashboard screen shows:

  • the revenue that has been generated for the period
  • the number of customers who have visited your online store (if you have one)
  • the number of orders that have been placed during the period
  • the top referral sites that have been the source of customers
  • the current total of open orders
  • the number of authorized payments that are close to expiring
  • how many product variants are out of stock.

To view the Shopify Mobile Dashboard screen:

  1. In Shopify Mobile, tap the button:

  3. The screen shows data from today. Swipe left to view data from yesterday, the past 7 days, the past 30 days, and the past 90 days:

Enable push notifications

If you enable push notifications, then you'll receive an alert on your iPhone whenever a new order is placed. This makes it easy to stay up to date with your store's orders.

You're given the option of enabling push notifications when you log in to Shopify Mobile for the first time, but you can enable the option at any time from the Shopify Mobile Settings screen.

To enable push notifications:

  1. In Shopify Mobile, tap the button:

  2. From the menu, tap Settings:

  3. Enable the Order Push Notifications option by tapping its toggle button:

When a customer places an order, you'll receive a notification on your iPhone:

Add an account

You can add multiple accounts in Shopify Mobile and easily switch between them. The accounts can be for different Shopify stores, or for the same store with different email addresses.

To add another account:

  1. In Shopify Mobile, tap the button:

  2. At the top of the menu, tap the name of the current account:

  4. Enter the store name, and then tap Done:

  5. Enter the email address and password for the account, and then tap Go:

Staff permissions in Shopify Mobile

Accounts added in Shopify Mobile will have the same permissions in the app as they do in the Shopify admin. For example, if a staff member doesn't have permission to access the Products section of the Shopify admin, then they won't be able access the Products screen of Shopify Mobile.

When a staff member tries to access a screen that they do not have permission to view, they receive an error message:

Change to a different account

After adding multiple accounts in Shopify Mobile, you can easily change between them from the main menu:

  1. In Shopify Mobile, tap the button:

  2. At the top of the menu, tap the name of the current account:

  3. Tap the account that you want to view instead:

Remove an account

To remove an account from Shopify Mobile, you need to change to that account and then log out from the Settings screen:

  1. In Shopify Mobile, tap the button:

  2. If you're not viewing the account that you want to remove, then change to that account.
  3. From the menu, tap Settings:

  4. From the Settings screen, tap Log out:

Install and log in to Shopify Mobile

After you've created a Shopify store, you can install Shopify Mobile and log in to the app using the same credentials.

Note

A staff member needs full access to your Shopify admin to log in to their account in Shopify Mobile.

To log in to Shopify Mobile:

  1. Install Shopify Mobile for Android.
  2. When Shopify Mobile is installed, tap the app to open it.
  3. Tap GET STARTED.
  4. Enter your store's name, and then tap the arrow button:

Log out of Shopify Mobile

Shopify Mobile stays logged in to an account until you log out.

To log out of Shopify Mobile:

  1. In Shopify Mobile, tap the button:
    Menu button android
  2. Tap the button:
    More button android
  3. Tap Settings:
    Settings button android
  4. At the bottom of the Settings screen, tap LOG OUT:

Enable push notifications
