Localization and translation
Customers often prefer to shop in their own language. You can add languages to your online store so that international customers can read your product details, policies, and checkout in their own language. Each published language gets its own URLs, and your store displays the translated version when translations exist. When translations don't exist, your store displays content in your default language.
Setting up languages for your store
Before you add languages, review the requirements and considerations for selling in multiple languages, such as theme compatibility and how language URLs work. You can then manage your store's languages: add, publish, and remove languages, change your store's default language, and choose the languages that each market uses.
Translating your store's content
You can translate your content in a few ways. You can use the Translate & Adapt app to translate content manually, or automatically with AI translations from Shopify. You can also add translations using CSV files, or use a compatible third-party translation app.
Translating checkout and notifications
After you publish a language, your checkout and email notifications are displayed in the customer's language. You can edit and preview email notification translations for each language.
